Hit my head really hard.concussion?!?

today.i hit my head so hard that i saw a bug white flash for like...1 second, and i have a big bump on my forehead.and my head (inside) hurts and the bump itself hurt a little teeny bit... could i have a little concussion? and if i did...is that bad? what do i do? what will happen if i don't get it looked at?
Answer:
if you feel dizzy, sick, or your vision is blurry it might be concussion. It would be a good idea to get checked out by a doctor
this would be a concussion. treat your pain with advil or tylenol, rest, and see a doctor if your symptoms become more severe.
If its bothering you you should really go see your doc,its always good to check it out expecually if your head, lots of things can happen so go get it checked out.
Concussions are caused by trauma to the brain. This happens when the brain collides with the skull. "Wierd" symptoms can occur and "concussions can worsen over time. For instance, a person may seem fine right after the injury. But strange symptoms develop hours or days later. In severe cases, worsening symptoms can be a sign that a blood clot is pushing the brain against the skull." Rest is prescribed and a person may need to be monitored at a hospital for a little while.
anytime you have a head injury-you should be evaluated within 24 hours (immediately if you passed out). being that you saw a "white flash" i would say that you passed out briefly and you really should have someone take you to the er or nearest urgent care.this could be a mild concussion and will hurt for a while.if you have it evaluated at an emergency room, they might take some head xrays to make sure you didnt fracture your skull and they might also do a head ct scan (a 3-d image of the brain taken w/ a special machine-does not hurt) to make sure you didnt seriously injure your brain (bruised it or have a small bleed somewhere). if you have a concussion-they'll send you home with some pain medication and tell you to rest as much as possible (and to have someone their to watch over you).do not take anything (tylenol, motrin, etc) until seen by a dr. these medications thin the blood and in the rare event that you have a brain bleed-they could make it worse if you take them. and do NOT drive yourself. if there is nobody there to take you-call 911 and have an ambulance drive you.head injuries can start out simple but can turn into a serious condition in an instant. i work in trauma icu and i've had several patients who have fallen days before coming to the hospital only to find out they had injured their brain and are now in my icu b/c they waited to long to have it looked out. it's better to be safe than sorry-especially with head injuries.
Because the brain is the controlling organ for the body, injuries to the head are potentailly dangerous and always require medical attention.
Concussion is an altered state of consciousness caused by a blow to the head or neck.. There is always possibility of serious brain injury.
Look out for temporary loss of consciousness, headache, amnesia, altered response to commands and touch, blood or clear fluid from nose or ears, pupils that become unequal in size and blurred vision. You need to be seen by a doctor as soon as possible.
Ok doing Martial Arts I have had my share of concussions. it is true that you do see stars. Man it is not fun. They don't really do anything for you at the hospital unless you are completely knocked out for a period of time. Make sure the bump isn't indented. If it is swollen and out then you are fine. Just take it easy. Put some ice on it to get the swelling to go down. If things get too awfully bad call 911. I am sure you will be fine. You will have a nice bump and a headache for awhile. My last bump didn't go away for over a month and the headache lasted for days. I wish you the best. Hang in there.
You should really get it looked at, you could have hurt yourself more than you know. I know with a concussion you鈥檙e supposed to stay up for like 24 hours cause there is a chance if you fall asleep you could slip into a coma. Go to the doctor.

Hit forehead...should I see a doctor?

I hit my forehead really hard on the corner of an open car door. Within seconds, I developed a HUGE egg shaped bump but no dizziness or vomiting. It has been 5 days now and the swelling has gone down tremendously. There is slight bruising which leads me to believe it is healing. I have experienced headaches since the injury and occassionaly feel tired and nausias. Should I be concerned? I was told to see a neurologist to make sure everything is OK but I do not have health insurance and the visit would probably cost a fortune once x-rays are taken. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Answer:
5 days out %26 you are doing better probably indicates no serious damage (which would be bleeding within the brain); but if things change you need to go to an ER. A mild concussion (which is just a sorta brain bruise) will heal on its own without anything to do for it--just observation for the first 48 hours. Signs that things are worse include: visual changes, gait problems, projectile vomiting, stupor to unconsciousness, personality changes, worst headache of life, stiffening neck etc. IN that case don't even think about health insurance but go to ER. Xrays of head injuries are no longer taken--you would get a CT or an MRI.
Yes, see a Physician for a diagnosis.
I'd go see a doc. It's not like it was your foot or something. It's your head! Lot's of important stuff in there.
As long as the symptoms are diminishing I would not go to the doctor. The Doctor would order at least a CT and possibly a MRI. Without insurance you are looking at about $2000 there alone. As long as the swelling is going down AND the color of the bruising is starting to fade then do not worry. If your vision becomes blurred or if you start noticing mood changes then you will need to go.
No, if you don't have the luxury of health insurance I would strongly recommend not going to a doctor. They're just going to charge you too much money to tell you you're just fine and that you got a mild concusion. You'll be fine, you we're probably feeling bad because the swelling creating increased pressure on your temporal lobe giving you headaches and nausia. If it continues to bother you in a week, then i would suggest seeing someone, or researching on the internet 'prolongued concusions' or something along the lines of that.

Hit 40 and have nothing but aches and pains?

try to keep fit have joined a gym and try to exercise 4 to 5 times a week
back, shoulder, ankle all ache all the time
any ideas
Answer:
Try taking Emergen-C with MSM on a regular basis. It's a powder you mix with water and is VERY effective for those aches we get as we age. I have a physician friend who works in the preventive medicine field and he recommends it to his older patients all the time. You could also take glucosamine chondroitin as a supplement. It helps with any degeneration of the pads between the joints. Those two products can be extremely helpful.
Warm up and down properly. If that doesn't do it see a physio or look into massage/ reflexology etc...very relaxing too.Does the gym not offer advice??
At 40 this happens...but yoga can significantly reduce the pain and aches. Yoga stretches muscles and gets fluids circulating within muscles and seems to make a big difference.
Take some ibuprofen. That will help with the pain. Then work out easier until you build up your muscles.
See your doctor, check your matress, and if you are just re- starting your exercise routine, see a trainer and don't exercise too long or too much: gradually build up.
There could be an underlying cause to your continuous aches and pains. Talk to your doc about it. As another answerer mentioned, yoga is good for you. The more flexible you are the less prone you are to injury.
Hope you sort out your aches soon!
the low dose aspirin is good, plus you have the added benefit of heartache protection. but you should also take some kind high dose calcium because after 30-35, you lose bone density.
Welcome to the club!
well my nan takes some naterel compounds against cartaleg damage and i believe it could help ...i feel you probably whent in to fast ...arobics can be fun with or without waights ...swimming never causes straina real massage with oils can and does help
Why not try a different type of exercise? Basic yoga or flexibility training is less demanding on the body, but very effective. You sound as if you are over doing it. Take it easy and give your body a chance to recover. Even just going for a 30 minute walk a few times a week can be of great benefit. Stretching exercises and deep breathing are the best for aches and pains. Good luck!

Hip/Leg Pains at 21?

I have been getting moderate to severe pains in my hips and down my legs for a while now, it comes and goes and is worse at times than others, but it worries me as it sometimes causes a limp its so bad. It feels like an aching sensation and it burns and tingles on movement. I am seeing my Dr about it tomorrow and would like ideas on what I shoud ask them/what tests I should be having for these symptoms. Any ideas welcome. Many thanks.
Answer:
Hi there, you will be surprised to know that being 21 doesn't exempt you from some of the "old people" stuff out there!! lol
Your symptoms could lead to any number of things, Sciatica is the first thing that I thought of because you mentioned a limp, but that is usually more prevalent in the right hip and leg. You could have a ruptured,or herniated disc. Or even Arthritis.
You should ask your doctor if he will schedule you for an MRI. X Rays do not show everything that needs to be seen.
If you are just seeing a "family doctor" you could ask him/her to refer you to a Neurologist.
Good Luck, I know things like this are a little scary, especially when you are young and every thing is supposed to still work good!!
Nikki, it sounds like you have a touch of Arthritis. Athritis is NOT just an old persons illness, it can affect young and old alike. There are some excellent herbal remedies for it and you can email me if you would like some advice on that.
It sounds as though you may have sciatica. See your doctor. in the mean time take some pain killers.
Sounds to me like Sciatica the sciatic nerve is at the base of your back and when pressure is put on it you would normally get referred pain which means although the problem is in your back you will get the pain elsewhere and with this condition it is normally your bum and legs, I get it in my knees and my bum and leg...and sometimes your toes go numb! Tell your GP the problem and ask is it possible it could be sciatica
It is probably arthritis. You can have it at 21... I do to, though not so bad, I guess. I take ibuprofen. Aspirin will also work. By the way, however much the company doesn't like it, Tylenol is not effective at treating arthritis, as it does not relieve inflammation.
Please do not take this the wrong way but, from my own personal experience, you may be drinking too much.
It could be sciatica however please get a diagnosis, then a second, and third opinion before going through any intense treatment. A heating pad works the best while keeping your leg slightly elevated. You may consider doing some light yoga exercises, there are some stretches just for sciatica pain. I personally have suffered with scoliosis %26 sciatica since I was 8 years old. Without knowing what it was. Come to find out many years later, my scoliosis started progressing after being hit by a truck, and the sciatic nerve then became pinched. If I had not found out when I did a surgeon was going to remove the rod %26 6 screws in my leg that had been there 15 years!
I agree with the earlier reply it could be sciatica. But it might be signs of osteoarthritis or gout, there are many variations of arthritis.I hope it goes well for you.
good luck, nikki, sounds like arthritis to me.
I'm also 21, and i am in constant excrutiating agony.(sonce the beginning of the year) I'm waiting, for yet another doctors apointment, but my docotor is soooo rubbish.
Let me know what they say, i'd like to know, so that i an also prepare for what to say to my doc, cos as yet i have no diagnosis.
i'm pretty sure it's arthritis, if it is, i'm buggered.
Good luck 鈾?

Hip Surgery?

Hi - I amlooking for opinions on total hip replacement. Did you have one? What was your experience? What do you think about ceramic... metal on metal and metal and plastic? Thanks.
Answer:
The price of hip surgery is very low in India as compared to USA, UK and Canada. My cousin also got her hip replacement surgery in India through the forerunners healthcare .She is more than very happy with the results. She is totally pain free now. She just paid 25% of the amount she was quoted in USA and is all praise for this forerunners healthcare company.
Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and magazines. I have read a lot of their patient stories also. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low price, as all joint surgery is not covered by insurance in USA or by NHS in the UK. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that your surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.http://www.forerunnershealthcare.com...
Hope this helps.
Yes, I had both my hips replaced.
I have described my experiences with this surgery in depth as I have answered many questions about it on Y!A. If you'd like to read more about it, please see my profile and my answers to questions that pertain to hip replacement.
The "gold standard" of a hip replacement has been metal/poly for many years. They work very well in less active (usually older) people. The problem with them can be that they wear fast in more active (and usually younger) people and may require early revision surgery. For this reason other more durable materials have been devised for bearings. One of these materials is ceramic/ceramic. If I were getting my hips replaced today, I would definitely at least ask about ceramic. Another is highly crosslinked poly.
There is a concern with metal/metal bearings and the issue of metal ions in the blood, especially in women of childbearing age. However they are very durable also.
I don't think anyone still uses metal on metal nowadays. Metal on ultra high molecular weight polyethylene(UHMWPE) are most commonly being used now. THRs have better success rate than TKR but still, it is recommended for the older age group(60 up) unless there is no other remedy but to use the replacements in younger individuals. If you are less than 60, ask your orthopedic doctor for alternatives before undergoing THR.

Hip problems?

i broke my hip when i was 15 and im now 21 and still to this day i suffer from alot of pain i have good days and bad days im going to see my doctor about it but i want some advice is there anything i can take for the pain?
Answer:
No doubt you are taking the usual analgesics.. OTC aspirin, Motrin, Tylenol and the like. Obviously your doctor will need to prescribe Rx medication to manage your pain. I fractured 3 vertebrae in my back from a mountain climbing (falling actually!) way back in 1987. Like you, I still suffer pain from that injury several times every year. I am sort of lucky however. I get migraines form time to time and have narcotic pain pills that my doctor prescribed. I use them when my back pain gets bad. And hold on everyone my doctor knows that I use those pain meds and he approves. One thing you might want to ask your doctor about is the use of amytripyline (amitriptyline) in low dosages as a prophylactic measure in preventing or reducing your hip pain. Hope you and your doctor can come up with a plan to eliminate or reduce your hip pain without the frequent use of narcotics.

Hip problems?

for as long as i can remember i have randomly had a problem where my hip and thigh will just randomly get a steady(not shooting) sharp pain down the front but its only when i am walking (not just sitting). well now it has gotten a lot worse and it feels like that everytime i get up from a sitting positionand then sometimes it will "fade away" and sometimes it gets a lot worse and i dont really know what is causing this pain. i wonder if it is some kind of pinched nerve (but there is no tingling sensation). does anyone know what the problem may be? there is no way that i can stop the pain...unless i sit down...but i just have to let it go away on its own. and i have found myself subconsciously walking differently to try to make the pain stop but that never works. any help would be appreciated.
Answer:
There could be several things that may be wrong with the hip. The most simple cause is a muscle spasm of your hip flexors. Try to stretch the muscles by getting down on 1 knee (on the side that hurts) and lunge as far forward as you can while keeping your body upright. You should feel a stretch in the front of your hip. Hold the stretch for 30 seconds and do it twice. Do this for a couple of days...if you see no change then I would recommend you see an orthopedic doctor to have your hip examined and have x-rays done.
Go and see a doctor.
i had the same problem some years ago. that ended by a hip joint replacement-prosthesis. consult a good orthopaedic surgeon
A lot of this depends on your age. Certainly you could have a degenerative hip condition if you were older, a fracture if you can recall some trauma to the leg, bursitis from over use but that is not very long term. If you are younger and athletic then you have probably fixated your sacro-iliac joint and its not wanting to move forward in extension. Go see a chiropractor. They can rule out all that severe stuff and send you where you need to go. More than likely it's something simple and they can help you in a couple of treatments.
Definitely is Sciatica.Look it up on the internet.

Hip Pain in 46 year old?

Okay my aunt is having some pain and I am trying to help her figure out what it may be - she is uninsured so it is truly hard to see a doctor right now.
A few months ago she slipped coming out of a large walk-in freezer- she did not fall but heard kinda of a crack sound and was fine after that. SInce then she has had a lot of hip pains- both sides. She says that if she has to be on her feet more than 30 minutes she would have to use crutches the pain is that bad. She also has lost range of motion- if she wanted to lift her leg -like a sizor kick she says it is extremely painful.
Please if you have experienced this or know of what it may be please help me give her some insight. I appreciate all your help- and remember she is only 46 - so it is not old age- thanks so much!
Answer:
There are several possibilities from bursitis, tendonitis, low back problems radiating pain into the hips. My best guess based on what information you provided is that when she feel, she ended up twisting her pelvis, causing the pelvis to go out of alignment. If this is the problem then she needs to see a physical therapist who can re-align her pelvis; otherwise she is going to continue to have pain. Hip Out of Place?

Occasionally when I get up off the floor or walk my hip will feel like it's out of place and in a few minutes feel better. Anyway, yesterday I walked on my treadmill and after I got off of it, my hip felt weird. I was stretching and I felt it pop (it's never done that before). The rest of the day my hip was sore and felt out of place and I couldn't walk without limping. I tried doing the stretch I did before to get it to pop and it did 2 more times that day. I got up this morning and my hip is SORE and I cannot walk without limping. Does anyone have a similair problem to this? Do you think it's out of place? I've had it x-rayed before and the X-ray was normal. I plan to go to the chiropractor if it still hurts tomorrow.
Answer:
a chiropractor is An excellent idea. not only will they be able to find the source of the problem, but they will be able to help you live without pain. I have found more help with my hip problems then I got after many medical doctors.
I have had this. Are you doing stretches? Possibly you are training too hard. Slow down and stretch more.

High leg muscle pain question. Could it be serious?

3 weeks ago while playing soccer I felt like I pulled my quad. Right at the top of the front of my leg. I get sharp pains when I bend my knee and move my leg back. It doesn't hurt when I walk but I get the pain when I run and I couldn't gain speed when I tried. I also could not kick a soccer ball without getting the pain to the point where my leg couldn't stand. I was just wondering if it could be something serious or just a bad pulled muscle.
Answer:
Hmmm...Thiis Could Be Serious, But You Never Know Unless You Go To The Doctors, If You Really Dont Want To Than Try Logging Onto The Nhs Website And Type I Your Symptoms.Im Sure Its Nothing At All, Just Rest The Leg, Mabey Use A Hot Water Bottle And Keep It Propped Up At Night. If The Leg Doesnt Seem To Be Getting Better, I Would Advisee You Go To The Doctors To Just Get It Checked Out!!
Best Of Luck!
Hopee The Leg Gets Better Soon For You!
Katiiee--x
i think you might have just pulled a really big muscle but if it still hurts in a week go get it checked out by a doctor

High deductible health Insurance?

Hello, What does high deductible prices mean in health insurance?
Answer:
It means you pay more than ever for services.
means you pay more out of pocket BEFORE the insurace picks up the majority of it. so if you have a 750$ deductible you need to pay 750$ before the insurance picks up. usually co-pays are not included. if you are a "healthy" person and dont use the dr much, higher deductible might be lower monthly premium.
hi check this link its good
http://insurancess.notlong.com
.
It means that you have not got a very good policy. You have to satisfy your 'deductible' before your health insurance administrator will begin paying for your medical expenses.High deductible policies are available to cover the costs of 'catastrophic' diseases or illness: essentially to pay for big ticket items like hospital confinements and major surgeries or for a protracted illness. Some insurance is better than none.

High blood pressure?

Every time I go to the doctor my blood pressure is "normal" so I have not been Diagnosed. But here lately I have been dizzy while driving, walking and such. When I walked into the store this afternoon I felt like I was flying above myself. I got dizzy and I sat down. It happens when I鈥檓 driving to the point where I grab my steering wheel tightly as not to fall or go off the road. I am overweight and I have not taken any meds except for lexapro 20 mg (over a year) and lunesta since November 06. I am not driving while the effects of the lunesta are still present. I have taken my BP at my moms house and it has been slightly high on occasion. Does it sound like high blood pressure to you? Either way I am going to call the nurse in the morning and tell her I just wanted opinions about it.
Answer:
I think it will turn out not to be high blood pressure. Other possibilities are side-effects from the Lunesta or Lexapro, blood sugar problems, vertigo, ear infection and inner ear problems, to name a few.
I am glad you're getting it checked out - best of luck.
no if anything it sounds like low blood pressure. The dizziness could also be a side effect of lexapro.
Sounds that way. Why not lose some weight and lower your sodium intake. This will help take the BP down.
It sounds like it could be a blood pressure issue. It also could be an inner ear thing going on throws off balance and causes dizziness. My migraines will also do that too me. They are not like the ones everyone knows about but it has made me think I was looking through crumbled up saran wrap and was also dizzy. Also On other thing is have you noticed that it happens we you skip eating a proper meal? My sugar level drops I get dizzy, sweaty, shaky, and my heart beats faster.
High blood pressure (Hypertension) and low blood pressure (Hypotension) both cause dizziness. You should relax for at least 15 minutes prior to taking your BP. There are alot of different reasons that cause dizziness. My advice to you is make an appt. w/ your physician especially if your driving.
That's smart move, make a appointment. It could be lots of things, no sense in making a diagnose; ask them to give you a panel, that will tell you exacting what is going on with your health. Good Luck!
I had high blood pressure too,and my DR. told to me to back off the salt, and alcohol. Since I did that, my blood pressure has been normal. You know too much weight is not good, as it can give you more problems, so I am glad you are going to see the nurse. You might think about having a complete physical, just to make sure everything is OK.
Kayla,
Make an appointment, but in the mean time... Just remember, these are only symptoms. God has given you the power to receive healing by His hand.God Bless.`
Try this product...Pro Stolic, I did my research before buying. My mom had high blood pressure, and this med really works!!!
my dear that dezzy and come from ur eyes u forget to test ur eyes try that and wear a good sunglasses wit uv protecttion and good glasses like rayban
strange one this one but I would go back and check again
what causes your knee pain have they said?

High blood pressure...?

On my homework today we were asked ,"If you eat 1/4th a cup of salt now, will your blood pressure show up high an hour later?"Well... instead of actually trying this out... I decided to get online and ask... does anyone know?
Answer:
1/4th of a cup of salt will simply kill you. It is too much of salt and your blood pressure will shoot up immediately. Please do not try this at all. It is just theory and let it remain a theory. Blood pressure has many reasons to shoot up. Primarily, more of NaCl will increase the BP, tensions and anxiety will also add to it. Lifestyle may affect BP, there are so many reasons why blood pressure shoots up suddenly. Most often, the increase in blood pressure is temporary, unless you actually suffer from hypertension.Essential hypertension is a complex problem because there is no obvious reason why the blood pressure is so high. Patients and doctors have to do some detective work to locate possible causes of high blood pressure. Here are some of the more common causes of high blood pressure: * Sedentary Lifestyle: Exercise helps maintain normal blood pressure, but few people get the amount of exercise they should to stay healthy.
* Smoking: That cigarette may relax a smoker, but it raises blood pressure, making the heart labor to maintain blood flow.
* Weight Gains: Extra weight increases blood pressure. Losing a few pounds is often the patient's first goal after being diagnosed with high blood pressure.
* Diet: Fats, cholesterol-rich foods and salt can all raise blood pressure.
* Alcohol: Heavy alcohol consumption has been linked to hypertension.
* Stress: Although stress is clearly related to elevated blood pressure, pinning down the cause of the stress may be difficult. What's stressful for one person may be relaxing for another. Determining stress sources and stress levels requires you to take a long, hard look at how you live your life. So what's the sodium-hypertension connection? Studies show that although going easy on salt and sodium will not prevent hypertension, it can lower blood pressure in those who have hypertension. In fact, even healthy people should watch their sodium intake. Here's the bottom line: nutrition experts recommend a healthful eating pattern moderate in sodium, a physical active lifestyle, and a healthy weight. Before you pick up the salt shaker, think about this - you weren't born with a love for salt. A new baby has four primary tastes - sweet, bitter, sour, and salty. A newborn will embrace sweet foods and reject sour or bitter, and can take or leave salty foods. To put it simply, if you are raised on salted foods, you will grow up thinking foods need to be salty to be tasty. Also, most of the sodium you consume comes from processed foods and foods eaten at restaurants. The good new is that you can "retrain" your taste buds. If you gradually decrease the sodium and salt in your diet, you'll find that your taste for salt declines, too. The less salt you consume, the less you'll want. By selecting lower sodium brands of foods and adding fruits and vegetables without adding salt, you can lower the sodium in your diet considerably. For added flavor, try using herbs, spices and salt-free seasoning blends. They're an easy, convenient way to add satisfying flavor to just about any recipe.
No you will not show up as high blood pressure an hour later.
DEFINITELY! Salt is a form of Sodium ion...Sodium does a number of things that will lead to a high blood pressure. It is the law that where sodium/salt is, the water follows. If there is abundance of salt in your system, there will be an increase in water too leading to edema or swelling. Swelling causes tightening of the blood vessels since its space is impinged by the swelling, this causes a higher pressure since it will be more difficult for the blood to pass through a tight vessel. Swelling of cells also causes hypervolemia meaning excessive volume/mass of blood in the body also making it harder for them to pass thru the vessels (may be due to crowding) leading to again a high BP. Sodium also activates the renin-angiotensin system which when activated causes further increase in blood pressure. So eating 1/4 cup of salt will not only increase your BP but it will also KILL you so it is a very good thing that you did not try it on yourself but instead posted your question here!

Hiding Scars?! HELP?

ok so i did some damage to myself . about a week ago and i got scars from it on my hand it wasnt do deep i was just playing around in class. cause i was bored it didnt even bleed much. But first it looked really bad and i hid it for couple days but i applied alot of scar minimizing cream and it helped.. but now that it is fully healed the scars are darker... like you can actually see them it wouldnt have been so bad if i i hadnt drawn a letter N on it. maybe if they were just lines i couldve said my dog did it... im visiting my doctor in two weeks and he was suspicious last time i saw him (old scars) i told him the dog did it... but i cant do that anymore how can i get rid of them?!
I cant do that cause of the N ... its clear that a dog couldnt have automatically drawn a N
Answer:
cover it with makeup
You can put cover-up on it. You shouldn't be causing damage to yourself.
get some foundation of your skin tone and cover it up!
you should buy a scar cream from walmart or any store that sells it its called merderma for adults.
Dude trust me when I say I'm a pro. Band-aids for the first week or so, saying you did it at school helping a teacher move something. then put neosporin on it EVERYDAY. After applying the neosporin use face POWDER, not cream, on it. Dab it on and lightly with a brush take the extra off.
The scar minimizing cream should do the trick especially if it's ONLY been a week. Nothing to worry about...unless you make a habit of damaging yourself.
mederma and vitamin e cream or oil

Hicky's lifespan?

okay, laugh, but this works for me and my sister.a teaspoon of plain sugar. just eat it. i think it stops the cramping of the diaphragm.
Sip of water - deep breath - repeat for about six times. Should work.
Well try drinking a lot of water..Tht usually helps when i get the hiccups..Best of luck..U can also take deep breaths..
Drink a litre of water, then stand upside down on your head.if all of the above fails, try playing chicken in your car with a truck.
Look at your feet for 30 seconds. Its magic .
Spoonful of vinegar works instantly!
-suck on a lemon wedge
-pour a teaspoon of sugar down your throat
-put a straw under your tongue, (horizontally-each side sticking out of the left and right side of your mouth) and drink a glass of water
-stand w/ your back super straight against a wall, drink water
slowly drink 9 sips of water without taking a break in between or taking your lips off the glass.
nope i hate them sorry there is no way to make them go away people say its because yo do not have enough oxigen i your lungs so try to brethe in deeply and hope you get better sorry
goto the local bar/pub - ask them for bitters... i had the hiccups at a bar - bartender gave me bitters - gone!
PUT SUGAR ON THE TIP OF YOUR TONGUE AND SWALLOW A BIG GULP OF WATER OR THE OLD FASHIONED WAY LET SOMEONE CREEP UP ON YOU AND BE SCARED
Get a glass of water, take a small sip, then take a breath, take another small sip, then take a breath.Do this 9 or 10 times or so.Always works for me!!
This always works for me....While holding your breath, take around 7 sips of water. I always take small, slow sips. Works every time! (If you happen to hiccup in between the sips, then start all over again.)
raw lemon/lime juice.just a squirt
BOOO!
Place a pillow next to the wall. With help, stand on your head. Once upside down, have your helper feed you a glass of water. Drink until the glass is gone. This works evertime without failure.
if there is someone else there with you have them push on the little cartilage nobbies that stick out on your ears, right where it start to go into your innerear part and then while they are doing this take 10 small sips of water fast without breathing. I have 100% success rate with this.
I saw someone on TV say that hiccups is cause by having too much oxygen in your lungs. So you need to deprive your lungs.
Take a normal breathe, then blow out, and keep blowing. Keep pushing all the air out until you feel your lungs are empty.
Then do it again.
Hiccups. They are very annoying. Have you tried the "all-known" cures for them?
Such as:
Holding your breath or getting someone to scare you?I find that drinking water helps. Or lay on your side. ( It works, I've done it many times)Not trying to scare you but my father, his best friend had the hiccups for three months. Just an interesting tidbit to make the day go by. and maybe get rid of the hiccups lol. =]
okay, this sounds really bizaree but I swear it works. Find a pen and pour yourself a glass of water. Now, stick the pen in your mouth like...like...like a dog would chew on a bone I guess. Now, while your teeth are still holding the pen, try to drink the glass of water. You might spill a little, but you only need a sip of water. And, somehow that cures hiccups. It's something about the way you swallow the water.
That's a bit complicated, though, lol. Usually I just wait them out.
Take a few short breaths as fast as you can and then take a deep breath and hold it.
Sip water while your holding your breath and tilt your head back sharply with every swallow.
Repeat until you cannot hold your breath any longer.
Then take another deep breath and drink the rest of the water in glass in one gulp as fast as you can.
What works for me:Take a drink of something but BEFORE you swallow..tilt your head back..then swallow! Works every time for me. Hope this helps.
hold your breath,,,,,,,which means you will have to shut your mouth for at least a minute all while holding your breath,,,,hiccups are breathing related,,stop breathing for a period,,always worked for me
if you can safely use it, then shake a little salt onto your hand palm and lick it, while Pinching your noise and holding you breath few minutes.
Few drops of Tabasco sauce in a 4 oz glass of cold water and drink it, the old tradition medicine helped me. Try it, hope you feel better soon.
For the tips of the day.
The only thing that works for me is to hold my breath. Also, once I heard that hiccups is just a severe form of heartburn, so taking an antacid might help too.
Hiccups are abrupt involuntary contractions of the diaphragm that causes an intake of breath and closes the sound-producing folds at the top of the windpipe (vocal cords), resulting in a convulsive gaspThe contractions of the diaphragm is said to be commonly induced by minor stomach upsets. That's why most of the answers above has something to do in soothing the stomach with water or sugar. Some are secondary to a psychogenic cause, meaning arising from a mental or emotional processes or originating in mental or emotional rather than in physiological processes. Thus some hiccups are consistent even with first aids, thus it needs a psychotic drug. For your first aid aside from water and sugar, Dill tea is popularly used to soothe hiccups, and ailments ranging from flatulence to insomnia.

Hi my daughter wants some shoes crocs?

My daughter wants them just because her friends have got them but is their any health etc benefits for them. So i know if i should get them for her. Thanks
Answer:
the world seems split on this! but if they're unsafe...what can i say?!
good luck
m x
They're really comfortable! Lots of health care workers wear them because they keep your feet comfortable when you're on your feet all day. They sell then at Payless Shoes and they're pretty cheap.
Hi your daughter wants a pair of crocs ,my daughter wears them shes 12 and loves them they havent harmed her feet they are really soft like rubber Go On Let Her Have Them
they are comfortable shoes, but they have no health benefits to speak of, they are better than going barefoot, but then any shoe provides that. Personally I prefer Birkenstocks, they at least help to improve posture.
actually they help, remove odor from feet because of the holes , plus they are very comfy so they wont cause blisters.
http://www.vancouvertelevision.com/healt...An article on the safety of crocs.
I used to be a waiter and with being on your feet all day, everyone said they are the healthiest, most comfortable shoes ever. I can't say I've tried them because I can't see myself wearing ANYTHING as ugly! Harsh, but true, sorry! =)
Get them! I remember when I was a child, I would screw (silently) if my Mom said no. There's a lot of pressure on teens these days for fashion. Plus, they are so comfy and safer than pumps!
The short answer: yes you should get them for herThe Long answer: Crocs are incredibly comfortable as everyone has said and as for being ugly yes they are but do you remember when Ugg boots first appeared everyone thought they were the ugliest boots ever but now they are so commonplace that how they look isn't an issue. Crocs are healthy as they can be easily cleaned in water with a bit of bleach so there is no bacteria build up. 3 months ago I could never image myself wearing something that appeared to be so hideous but now having succumbed to them and bought a pair I can not imagine myself with out them. Hope that helps makes you decision easier

Hi I waxed my upper lip myslef and i ripped out alot of skin its now a red wound will there be any scarring?

My skin was dry... really dry before i did it ! well the skin is ripped out it 2 places . I need to know if its going to scar I don't think i went tooo deep or anything ..but its been like a red wound for 2 days now... when i say wound its not crusty or anything like that just sorta red you know ... Should i be leaving it alone totally or should I be applying vaseline to it my mom said thats good for that kind of stuff ... plz help
Answer:
Did it bleed? Then you really, really need to see a dermatologist, who might be able to give you special medicine and bandages to prevent scarring. If not, use your own judgement. My friends were just talking about a lady who had permanent scars from waxing her upper lip . . . . Better safe than sorry.
Use triple antibiotic ointment. It will reduce the chance of scaring and infection. You can buy it at the pharmacy without a prescription.
Ouch! I did that once but to my chin. The price we pay for beauty, huh? It shouldn't scar but just to be sure, try a neosporin or cocoa butter. Vaseline is good too. Anything that will keep the skin well moisturized should aid in the healing process and help prevent scarring
I did that once too, it hurt like a ***** and it looked horrible afterwards.. It sucked. I didn't have any scarring though...

Hi I have had sore hips (and knees) for a few years now. It's worse at night and wakes me up.?

I have to move postions until it builds up again. i think it's worse in winter and it feels similar to when i was pregnant and my body was preparing for birth and becomiong more supple. My youngest child is 9 years old now!~ Any ideas?
Answer:
I would guess that you are suffering from arthritis. It can start showing up at any age, and in different degrees pain wise.
I couldn't believe it when I started to feel it, I thought I was way to young and also I had no idea it could hurt so bad!!
Try Aleve Liquid Gels before you go to bed, they have Naproxen, it is what a doctor would normally prescribe for the first stages of
arthritis, also Bio Freeze works well as a rub on. Get as much exercise as you can, and try not to baby your "achy"
areas. You are right, arthritis does flair up more when it is cold, and also rain and humidity can effect it/you.
Good Luck to you,and please know, you are not alone! lol
There are alot of us on this site so if you have questions, you are in the right place!!
This sounds like arthritis to me. You might try taking aspirin or ibuprofen; if that helps, then it's probably time to go to your doctor to talk about how to deal with the problem. I can sympathize, as I've had to deal with it in a few joints since my 20s; now that I'm in my 50s, it's a part of life, but it's manageable. Good luck.
It's x-ray time. You should probably get a bone density test too.

Hi i have had a bug sickness and diahorrea?

but my back is in agony is this normal
Answer:
It is not normal to get back pain in gastroenteritis. Do take the normal management of clear fluids, no solids and no milk for 24-48 hours, but if the pain persists seek medical advice.
This condition is know as the "winter vomiting bug" its contagious so u need to keep away from family and friends so u dont pass it on to them . You should not work for 3 days as u r still contagious. If your back is given you problems you should phone a doctor for advise .
Not a usual side effect but if you have been retching you could have twisted awkwardly. If you don't feel better in a few days phone NHS direct.
You may have Gastroenteritus. This can last for a few days to a whole week.I should know because i have had it and i was so ill, it was unbelievable. I had sickness, diahorrea, severe abdominal pains and dizzyness. My back hurt a lot too, and i kept going very hot and then cold in a matter on minutes. If you have had reoccuring sickness and diahorrea, then you have gastroenteritus. Best advice is to stay in bed because you will be too weak to walk.
You need to drink more.Boil some water in the kettle, let it cool. Add 1tsp sugar and 1/2tsp salt to a cupful. Drink it.You need to drink about 5pts plain water a day, whilst you have the diarrhoea and vomiting
Yes it can be as all the retching can cause rib pain or back pain and you have pulled a muscle which hurts like hell and takes a while to recover. Paracetamol and ibrouphenon are good however with upset tummy may make it worse.
No work and no going back until you have two clear days of no diarrhoea and sickness.
drink plenty of fluid especially water to stop you dehydrating.
If it continues for longer than two days go to doctor.
Theres some bug doing its rounds just now so plenty of fluids to keep re hydrated, heard ordinary coca cola it best for this easily swallowed and see doc for confirmation and pain relief for back, you!ll be alright.
poor you you can get a bad back after you have had a bug i think its something to do with all that renching when your being sick it will go off after a few more days,

Hi everybody .. my wife has a severe pulling like pain right from her right lower abdomen to her feet..?

she had a appendicitis operation about 10 years ago. we dont know if it is related to this.
she took a tablet called myospa last time but only got momentary relief. The doctor says its a muscle strain. But she never does anything to sprain her muscle.
She gets this sever pain all of a sudden . But it subsides on its own.
We are confused . Plz tell us wt to do.
Answer:
Muscle spasms can occur out of the blue. It's not uncommon. I doubt if it's related to the surgery. I recommend a chiropractor to sort out the problem so you will know exactly what is going on.
It is kinda unlikely that it is a muscle pull, but you can pull a muscle randomly without strain. If the pain runs on the outside of her right leg, it could be related to her sciatic nerve. When this nerve is irritated it causes alot of displaced pain. If it is the inside of her right leg, it could very possibly be something gynecological.
Wish I had more answers for ya!!
Hope she gets some relief soon!!

Hey, It's me Angel... The one who slipped on the milk at the grocery store.?

I went to the doctor today, I have a torn ligament, and a sprained ankle. I smell money!!!
Answer:
Yeah what an ***!! You smell money and it's coming out of our pockets. Thats right when morons like you do something stupid and sue all of our insurance rates go up...but what does that matter to you...You got money. Here's an idea for you. Go lay down in the interstate and if you're hit and killed by traffic I'm sure your family can sue and then they'll have money and there'll be one less idiot in the gene pool.
Wow! Pain for money. I think thats a fair deal.
I don't know, call me strange. When I see a liquid on the ground I walk around it. That is just me. I don't go out of my way to scam though.Next time, watch where you are walking. It is not that hard. Unless you are blind, then I am sorry for saying that.
hi angel
anything to get free money. society makes me sick today. I'm only 24, and i think i have more morals then most people. so give me a break and spare the sob story. you should only sue if you you were paralyzed after the fall. are you the cheap person that also complains at restaurants just to get free food?

Hey my name is kyle.I've been having LBP for 3 months now and in a wheelchair for the past 3 or 4 weeks .

I have no feeling in my legs and can't move them I've been diagnosis with posterior facet arthropathy at the L2-3 and L5-S1 also schmorl's node involing the L1 vertebral body also inferior endplate of T7 to T10,tiny left paracentral disk protrusion is noter at the T4-5 which effaces the anterior thecal sac,a prominent perivascular space involving the right basal ganglia measuring 3 mm.The doctours are telling me that there are no problems with my back that would cause no feeling in my leg.Is this true?
Answer:
You need to see a neurologist because it is possible to not have feeling in the legs if there is a nerve problem. I don't know what doctors you've been to, but I feel a neurologist can get to the heart of the problem. There's got to be a physical reason for what you are going through. Best wishes
It could very well be related to your back if you injured it. You may have injured your spinal cord. If not, then you may have Multiple Sclerosis.
Not true - just means he didn't find anything... This sounds like an x-ray, which only shows bone contrast. An MRI shows soft tissue differences, also, so would be best to see what's happening with nerves. A neurologist would order that done, and would be the one to help you.

Hey my face got put into my birthday cake a 1 month ago.?

now my nose won't stop dripping and i always have a headace and a sore throut. how do i get rid of it?
Answer:
i doubt the cake had anything to do with it. sounds like you might be sick with pneumonia or somthing bad. check out a doctor when you can
GO TO YOUR DOC
It probably isn't the birthday cakes fault, unless you know that you are allergic to certain cakes... which makes me wonder why you even had a birthday cake? If it is slow-acting food allergies, you need to go to a doctor to help get rid of it. However, it could just be because this is allergy season... my best advice on how to deal with normal, seasonal allergies (that just happened to occur around your birthday) is to search the resolved questions on here for allergy advice.

Hey is this normal?

Hi!
I have always had painful periods, but something has changed. I keep having cramping pains and the urge to go to the toilet to poo and to break wind. It does relieve the pain but it soon come back. I have had my periods for just under 3 years and i am still irregular, The pains are not in my stomach but just by the nicker line.
I'm afraid to go to school or to go out with my friends, The doctor cant find anything that causes this but he has given me anti biotics.
I dont know what could be wrong, is this natural in a menstrual cycle?
or is it something like IBS?
Please help x
Answer:
Don't worry - when I have my period my poos change. The get looser than normal and more frequent. It's horrible isn't it - as if you don't feel bad enough aready you have this worry about too!. I sometimes find my tummy is so sore all over that I can't tell you where it hurts anymore. Don't be scared to go out with your friends or to go to school. Just try and plod on but at the time of the month get plenty of sleep and eat well. There is nothing wrong with you honestly, this is all normal for us girls.
A lot of women have those symptoms with your period and everyone is different and you can have symptoms now that you would of never had when your period started I have had mine for 12 years now and I have totally different symptoms today than I did then.
sounds like ibs ,,,,could just be somthing that your eating regulary that you may have become intolorable to ,,.? lactose milk ??maybe an allergy test might be in order
yes thats normal i think as sometimes it feels like a fart in my vagina and i have to just sit on the toilet and wait for it to plop out
everyones different but its normal for some people to feel like this. I tend to some times. just take painkillers as soon as you notice you've started your period. That'll deal with the cramps. You can even get special painkillers just for period cramps. It may just be built up pressure. Try varying your diet and see if that makes a difference. Hope it gets better.xxx
Whenever I get my period I get the same way. My digestion changes for sure and I have to go the bathroom more and I get more gas. I think it might be the hormones being released in the body at the time of menstruation. Its kinds of like our own special PMS symptoms! I don't think there is anything wrong with it. I am perfectly healthy. Also, why do you need antibiotics if the doc can't find anything wrong? Thats not good! Change docs! I don't take antibiotics unless I absolutely have to. If you internally feel like something is really wrong, then go see another doctor, one who'll run tests before he prescribes meds! For me, its just been another PMS symptom, which is completely normal.
FYI Check the list of med reactions on the drug consultation form you got when you filled your RX, or call your pharmacy and ask about reactions if you tossed the paper. Many antibiotics cause this type of symptom, especially the "emycin" family of meds.
I would say it is a combination of IBs and painful periods. i recently went to the doctors for Ibs and the doctor gave me a list of the symptoms and all of yours are on there. i also used to get painful irregular periods so the doctor put me on the pill and this really helped.

Hey is this arthoritis if when im sitting 4 a while i get up & my knee is locked?

Answer:
lol No you don't have arthritis, I'm 16 and trust me you don't. It probably just locked itself you will be fine. You don't get arthritis until your old so you wont be worrying about that for a long time. Just chill and take it easy.

Hey i need serious help...knee pain...??

Ive had acl reconstruction a year ago and the doctor also told me that i had a partially torn meniscus but he left it alone as he told me it was "supposed" to heal...But now, i still have knee pains and a clicking sound when my joint moves. The doctor say is fine and that is because my muscles are not strong enough...Im just have a feeling his pulling this one off, i mean a year and the pain is still there...im 18 years old and wanna play sports... My knee dont give way now but still feels uncomfortable and pain... I really dont know, i wont have enough money for another operation( and im NOT going to go through the pain of rebulding my muslces etc ) man this is ****...cant the doctor just reconstruct the meniscus the first time i had operation? what am i supposed to do now?
Answer:
Although you would need a doctor's examination, it still sounds to me like you need that meniscus shaved or something. To me, the clicking sound you're hearing most likely is your torn meniscus. At this point I would get a second opinion. Do you have insurance? Why do you talk about having enough money for another surgery? If this is truly malpractice by the first guy, you might probably get everything paid for at the end.In the meantime, do keep your muscles strong. Trying to strengthen them in the future will be harder.
call the orthopedist or ask for a 2nd opinion.
The doc told you your muscles are not strong enough so head to the gym and start working those muscles. I am not sure what you expect the doc to tell you but he point blank told you that you need to strengthen the muscles. That is not something he can do for you .......You have to do the exercises yourself.
If you are only 18, I would suggest you build those muscles up if you plan on using them till you're 90.
you really need to see a different Doc. or orthopedic surgeon. I had the best and now I live to far away to go to him.
Yeah, I don't take no for an answer either... Get glucosamine + chondroiton supplements. generic pharmacy brands will do immediately but try to find a quality product asap... I believe Pharmanex.com has one of the strongest, purest products out there... Anyway, gluc has been proven to regenerate cartilege %26 significantly improve flexibility. Perhaps that site can also tell you how much is suggested for serious therapy, but you will need more than daily recommended doses as stated on a generic's bottle. I don't know if you're seeing a sports meds doc but... Your dr may not know anything else to do until you need surgery again or he/she may be bound by law not to tell you if he/she does know... medical drs are only legally allowed to examine, run tests %26 prescribe fda approved drugs basically... You should contact a sports meds chiropractor or phys rehab trainer for better therapy tips/exercises.All the best...

Hey guys i,m a drummer. and i looking for the best way to loosen up my wrists, any ideas?

Answer:
OK, I'm not even going to go there!! lol
But seriously, extend your arms with a tight grip on your stix and move them with a quick twist (left%26right) just go back and forth using you wrist only. Do this all the time between breaks or when ever possible.
Practice pad.
I'm a drummer, too.I do lots of swimming, sign language, and typing to loosen up my wrists. The downside to the typing and sign language is that you can develop carpal tunnel from anything repetetive (even drumming), so for me, swimming is the best...
ahem.
grasp your wrist with other hand, do hand circles in one direction, then switch directions. After circles, hand extensions (back of hand towards back of forearm), then hand flexing (the other way) Slowly and methodically for each stretch. This will help obtain the flexibility that you seek.
Massage!
To loosen your wrists and prevent injury, ice your wrists after long practice/play sessions. Apply ice for ten minutes on, ten minutes off, and repeat.
For long term looseness, get a wrist and arm massage from a professional a few times. Pay attention to what she does, and then you will be able to do it yourself. Massage your wrists every day. Anyone who works with their hands and arms will find this helpful.
Where arm weight while you masterbate, or while you wipe your ***, works, trust me!
I just warm up on a practice pad for 10 -15 minutes before a gig.

Hey docters this is for you. This may be gross but any good wart removers?i really need one.?

well i have this wart on my hand and it isn't contachious but it won't go away.i have used equip remover and some kind of freeze off but none is working.i have had it for years and i want it gone before school begins.anyone have some good advice or product that works.plz help me.people think it is gross and it hurts my feelings.thanx
Answer:
Commercially available wart removers are the best things to use, but they do take a while. Warts are tough to kill off, as you have discovered. It can take months of daily treatments to get them to shift off. Since it's on your hand, a doctor can use liquid nitrogen to freeze it, but it will have to be repeated several times to finally do the job. The skin on the hands is rather thin, and the muscles, tendons, and bones are close by- so you can't freeze too deeply at any one time or you'll damage them. Home remedies that will kill a wart are just guaranteed ways to damage your hand, and most don't work. So either find an over the counter preparation, and stick with it for several months, using it every day, or go see the doctor. It might not be a bad idea to have it looked at anyway, to be certain that it is actually just a garden variety wart. Then you can discuss the removal options with a professional.
compound W . it really works.it's worth the money too.it'll go away incredibly quickly
I would suggest using Dr. Scholl's Freezing Wart Remover. This works very well, but if you have already used this, I would advise you to use Dr Scholl's BandAid Wart Remover. It's very simple, all you do is place a medicated band-aid on your wart, and replace it every 12 hours, and it should be gone in a matter of days!
vitamin E (the cheap stuff is ok). Poke a hole with a pin and squirt some on the wart, cover with a bandaid. Re-do as needed when your band-aid comes off. Should take about a week. You might want to keep doing this for a few days after the warts gone to make sure it won't come back.
I know this works on regular warts. Idk about one you've had for years, but it's worth trying. It might take a little longer.

Herniated lumbar disk problem?

anyone had a disk herniation that caused terrible pain in the side of the leg, the knee and a burning pain in one toe? If so, what treatment seems to have worked for you?
Answer:
Yes, although I was lucky it mostly disappeared with some time and exercises. For me physical therapy helped the most, it mainly consisted of exercise to improve the flexibility of my muscles, mainly the hamstring and lower back muscles, as well as strengthen my abdominal muscles. Tight hamstrings, weak abs and lower back all put more pressure on your lower back. From your description I would assume you have a pinched nerve, so alleviating some of the pressure may help. Other exercise that could help are walking and swimming, as well as avoiding activities that involve a lot of rotation in respect to your torso and axial pressure (stuff that pushes down on you, like carrying things above your head).Lastly if none of these work surgery may be the only option left. From what I've read lately it tends to be successful to varying degree's in patients, but it's non-invasive now in most cases so your out of the hospital after 1 night.I'd strongly suggests asking a doctor if you haven't already, I'm NOT a doctor, just another guy with a herniated disc. Hope you get better soon.
ok well i work at century city doctors hospital and the docs there specialize in back surgeries. i have noticed that lots of the new patients we get in the e.r. have similar symptoms as you. most of the patients that end coming in to the e.r. end up getting surgery. its scary but sometimes the only help. there is a really good dr named dr lanman that works out there. the hospital's main number is 310 772 4000. good luck and hope that you get the help you need soon.
I would suggest that you consider surgery last and consult a chiropractor first to determine if stretching and exercise along with spinal adjustments can help alleviate the pain/pressure from the herniation. Try to find a chiro who has a massage therapist on staff so you can benefit from both therapies at each visit.
Many docs will suggest conservative treatment first such as physical therapy. Most times that is only effective for a short while. The best treatment is a surgery. Many patients feel tremendous relief after surgery. Talk to your doc about this!

Herniated discs in neck?

I have two herniated discs in my neck and wanted to know if anyone could tell me what excercises I could do to try to keep my arms tone? Yes, it hurts bad and have sought chiropractic care and they want me to go to therapy, but is this something I can do at home? Thank you for your help...
Answer:
yes and no. Alleviating pain is one thing..taking care of the herniation is the other. For example: If you break your arm and then take pain medication..did you heal the break or only alleviate the symptom of the actual problem.Exercises can alleviate some symptoms, but overall you need to fix the disc.Chiropractic care, through adjustments of the vertebrea, re-establish proper and essential movement at the joint level. This movement supplies the disc with nutrients, imbibition. So, all in all, seek chiropractic care and do exercises on top of adjustments. Also massage will help, along with electrical therapy, heat/ice, ultrasound, etc. Bottom line: you still need to move the bone(s)!!
Lift with free weights not exercise machinery. Use lighter weights but more reps. I recommend the physical thearpy. They can teach you how to work around your injury and how to best use your muscles and even have you gain flexability. If worst comes to worst, surgery works wonders.
you need to go to your doctor, you should have permanent damage
Ask your chiropractor for a home traction device so you can do some home care. Traction is the best thing for cervical disc herniation. It opens the IVF (intravertebral foreman) which helps relieve the pressure of the nerves and therefore reduce the pain. Then you can do your arm workouts as well.
Good Luck.Dr. Ali, DC
Have you tried swimming? Swimming is good for people who have herniated disc because the water supports their weight. I also have a problem with my spine, so I took a swimming class. It does help by conditioning and toning my muscles. Try this site for for info on your neck http://www.spine-health.com/topics/cd/ne...
try getting a thera ball or something a little smaller and lifting it strait up and down several times (20-30). Do this several times a day. Be very careful not to twist your c-spaine when you do it though, that will aggravate the discs. Lifting hand weights can't hurt either unless they're like 10 pounds a piece. Basically, anything that doesn't require twisting your c-spine.

Herniated disc?

Does anyone know how risky the procedure to repair or remove a herniated disc is?
Answer:
Usually the herniated disc can not be repaired and we do bone fusion...joining the vertebrae together. This does limit motility a bit (depends on location) but the risks are very small. We use a general anesthetic with a muscle relaxant and the whole procedure can be finished in less than an hour. If you think of the disc like a very thick jello, it is a shock absorber on the spinal column and protects you from the effects of jumping and shock waves up the spinal column. You won't feel the pain of the removal of the disc but you will have some muscle pain after surgery. A few non-surgical treatments have been back-braces and analgesics but neither will help much.
Any procedure near the spine is dangerous. I have two worn discs that i was advised to get fused together but declined because it was 50-50 if it worked.
http://www.webmd.com/back-pain/tc/hernia...
50/50 you have to decide if it's worth it.
I had a lamenectomy in 83. It was worth it to me to be able to walk.
The only downside then was the 4 month rehab.
The procedure to remove an herniated disc is definitely risky because when accidents happen, the spinal cord and the nerves running from it cld be pinched or damaged causing paralysis the extent of which depends on the level where the injury occurs.Surgery is not the only option for cure. Dr Batmanghelidj, an Iranian doctor, after 20 yrs of research abt water in Iran and the U.S. cites that herniated disc cld be corrected with proper hydration of the body. He says that the vertebral disc contains much water and like water in sponges keep the discs turgid or expanded. When the discs dry up due to water shortage, the discs collapse and pinch on the nerves that pass in between 2 discs. Malalignment of the discs cld also cause injuries to the spinal cord.Dehydration does not occur with diarrhea or vomiting alone. Dr Batmanghelidj mentions that chronic unintentional dehydration is brought abt by the failure of the person to drink adequate amts of water everyday plus taking in of dehydrating substances contained in other fluids aside from water. These substances are coffee, tea, sodas, chocolates and alcoholic beverages. These will cause U to pass more fluids out of the body than what had been taken in. If this deficit happens daily, dehydration will set in but unknown to the person until he becomes diseased. So to hydrate properly, follow this method: Dissolve 1/4 tsp of sea salt to 1 quart of water. Salt holds water and will help hydrate the body better. Depending on ur size, take 16-24 ounces upon waking up in the morning, take 8-16 ounces half hr before meals, take 8-16 ounces 2 and a half hrs after meals and then 16-24 ounces at bedtime. When U urinate, replace the water lost with 8 ounces of water. When the body gets sufficient volume of water, it also wld hydrate the discs and the entire body systems as well. Discs will expand or swell when water is imbibed. This releases the pressure against the nerves and so relieves the pain.Avoid the dehydrating substances substances as mentioned earlier. In case swelling on the feet occurs, discontinue the salt for 2 days and then resume it when the swelling subsides.Hope this helps.
Any surgery near the spine is dangerous. I had a herniated disc surgery and it did not help my condition. I felt worse afterwards and have never felt better since the surgery, that was seventeen years ago. I have to use deep tissue massage therapy and chiropractic care to relieve the pain. you have to make the decision of what is right for you. I just wanted to tell you my experience.

Herniated disc or lower back sprain?

I hurt my back about a week 1/2 ago by lifting something heavy. Went to Chiro who thought it was probably a muscle sprain after evaluation. The pain was into to my butt not my leg. Sharp pain mostly when putting pressure on it, or bending. The pain was getting a little better. I went running (I know stupid!) and the pain returned with a vengeance. I met a orthopedic MD when I was on vacation who stretched me and readjusted my back. Felt better right after but pain eventually came back. I've been taking advil and stretching since saturday. went back to chiro for massage. Mosty now it only hurts when I step forward and pressure on it. I keep stretching. In certain positions I feel my leg pop and feels locked. Is that bad? How long before it heals? Am I taking the right steps toward treatment? Any ideas or suggestions?
Answer:
I am a runner and I did the same thing. My chiro said it would take three weeks to heal. The first time it happened I kept running and it did not get better until I stopped. It hurt all the time. It happened recently (a year after the first time) and I did not run for 8 days. Now I run but no speed work yet. When I feel something funny I go back to the chiro. It will get better but it takes a while. You have to rest and do core workouts. It is very frustrating. Ride a bike and do core workouts and be patient.
I have been there before and it is no fun. A sprain can take weeks to heal and over the counter anti-inflammatory with ice/heat therapy will make it feel better.I had a herniated disc in my lower back and it hurt like hell. Pain in my butt, my leg, my back and it hurt to do anything especially going from a sitting to a standing position or visa versa.Contact The American Back Institute and ask about VAX-D therapy. It stands for Vertebral Axial Decompression. I was 26 yrs old when I hurt my back and I was told that the only option I had was surgery and pain management. So my normal life was over as I knew it. I heard a commercial on the radio (10 yrs ago) about this new therapy and I had to give it a try. After the therapy was over (32 days worth) I was 100% healed. The disc is actually back in place and I have not had ANY problems from it in over 10 yrs now.good luck

Herniated disc and Sciatic pain?

i am very active and still in my teen years. I hearniated my disc (L4 L5) and have sciatic pain in my left leg and numbness in my foot and knee. The worst part of all is that i am unable to stand up straight and when i am standing i cant lift my head. the tear is 7mm by 17mm. About 3 months ago after a hockey game i noticed what felt like a pulled muscle, so i just ignored it but over the next month, it got worse and worse. For 4 weeks now i have been going to physio therapy where we have been useing laser treatment, electrio therapy, and traction and so far it is the same pain wise but i am able to stand up slightly straight but i still cant raise my head and i still have the numbness . my docter mentioned surgery and i am a little sceptical about that because i am only 18 years old. i would like to know how long people are out for with this injury?
Answer:
Listen up. Is your doctor a Orthopedic S. or Neurologist? How did the injury happen. What you are describing definitely sounds like sciatic. Typically it starts from the lumbar region and goes inferiorly over the gluteal area stop right above the knee, and in severe cases it can cause tingling and numbness in the big toe and foot (Parasthysia and Hyperesthsia). When you describe the herniation as 17mm its almost unheard of. there is a condition that's called sequestration that's when the nuclear material (pulposis) protrude outside of the annular fibers and this is pretty severe. Consult a Chiropractor as well you may get more relief aside from the physical therapy. Good Luck.
Dr. Ali, DC
The sciatic injury and herniated disk injury are two different injuries. The sciatic joint is an ear shaped joint that helps your uper leg bone attach to the pelvis. It can be treated with a minor surgical proceedure that takes about 40 minutes, doesn't hurt and is done while you are awake. Using a flouroscope Doctors guide a wire to the damage and can usually clear up the damage unless the joint is so damaged they can not get the wire to the inside. The herniated disk is like a thick jello encased in a membrane and that membrane has become herniated (torn) causing the disk to shrink in thickness. Look at a diagram of the human nervous system and you will see that nerve bundles get to your spinal cord through various openings in your spine. The disk helps to hold open these openings and if the disc becomes ruptured, the entrance way for the nerve bundle becomes smaller, irritatating the nerves. This requires an operation to fix as well so the Doctors can stabalize the opening and stop the irritation. Sometimes these are inoperable and you are just stuck. You should always get a second opinion before getting any kind of operation, but in both cases, the only cure. The sciatic operation is painless and you can go home right away and no recovery time is required. The herniated disk repair is a much more complicated operation.Chiropractors can not help either injury.

Herniated disc and sciatic pain?

I just need alittle hope out there for my pain. I have had back pain mild for years and suddenly a couple of months ago after lifting a family member a couple of times and wear and tear at work my back has exploded. I could not move an inch and i layed in bed for weeks. I have been to five different doctors and finally ignoring my family doctor claiming im young and i just need to trust my body and walk it off...I have found out i have four herniated disc. I did the esi a week ago and im still really weak in my foot area and upper thigh. Does anyone know what is the way to go? therapy? another esi or because of my need to work go straight into the back surgery. I need help im not old and I have a great job Im just afraid i will never be able to physcially do the things i need to do. Is there any possiblity of hope that one day i will wake up and this could be more manageable?
Answer:
Wow, alot of great answers here!! Nice to know that you are not alone, huh. I know with the kind of pain that you are in sometimes you feel like it, especially dealing with doctors who never believe that back pain is realivant.
I had my disc (L4/L5) herniated into my sciatic nerve after having similar early back pain like you described. Since your early symptoms are similar to mine and others i have heard of, you should try to find out if you have degeneration of your discs. Don't let anyone tell you that age is a factor, because it is NOT true.
All that said, I had the Discectomy that everyone was talking about being so dangerous. I disagree. I was excruciating pain and had 90 percent paralisis in my right leg due to sciatic nerve being pressured by the disc. After being flat on my back for 2 months, I had the surgery, woke up in the recovery room and knew I felt better!! That night I walked the hallways!! Now the next couple of weeks where definetly not pain free, but as my sciatic nerve began to repair itself, it got better and better. I was up and around and back to normal in less than 3 wks.
So, I guess it all boils down to what is best for you.. but you do need to find out if you have degenerasation before you make your decisions because it of course, is chronic and if you don't want disablity now, you will in the next few years.
Good Luck to you, I know the pain you are dealing with :(
Hope you get some relief soon.
go for epidurels they helped me alot, but they are costley and last a very short time, so you will need alot of them
try sitting in a hard char with a tennis ball in your lower back it helps me when my back hurts and soothe the pain down to my legs that i feel from my back injury
Get worker's comp going and find the best specialist you can. There is hope but you need to insist on the best care. Don't take platitudes for an answer. This is a serious condition. You need an MRI and a discogram to determine if you need a discectomy. Also, now they have a device that is inserted into the spine after the back is healed and you still have chronic pain that makes it all disappear with an electronic signal. It's expensive about $30,000. If worker's comp doesn't want to cooperate get a lawyer and make sure you are taken care of you are too young to live the rest of your life in misery. My daughter had a similar situation and I've lived with back pain all my life (I didn't have worker's comp). Take care and there is healing it just takes lots of time and you covering your back at all times.
Alot of the back surgeries don't come out very well, I'm sorry to tell you that. I have several friends who have had them and wound up in worse shape. See the disc above the herniations try to compensate for the bad ones and then they become unstable, surgery to stablize and repair (disk replacement or discectomy) the bad ones fixes the bad ones but then the above ones become unstable and cause trouble. One that recently came out that has helped my best friends fiance is spinal decompression, it's the equivalent of 20 chiropractor visits in 1, they stretch the spine and discs back into place, it is expensive but well worth it. It's a very specific care therapy, it is expensive but some insurances will approve it because it's shown good promise. I would go this way if it were me in that shape. I watched her fiance go from laying in pain on tons of drugs day after day, to a failed disectomy, failed replacement, to the decompression and he's not on any meds and was mowing grass today. I don't know where you live, but Dr. Kevin Augustine in NY does it, I'm sure he would know of others who do it in your state, his number is 716-754-2225.Good luck.
Sciatic pain is the worst feeling. I have 3 deteriorating discs and the pain is incredible.Since we are young a surgeon will not touch you.I went on disability and will be on it for the rest of my life. It does not get better it will keep getting worse.I would apply for assistance and forget the job for now until you get everything sorted out.I hope you have some good pain meds. You will need them.Once your back is a mess it will never get better not even with surgery. The hardest part is realizing that you will never be able to do the things that you could before.and you never will again.Seek pain management, they help some.If you live in Canada it is easier cause our health care is paid.Even with rods in the back you will never be the same. Good Luck. Here is my address Keep in touch and let me know how you make out.We may be able to talk with a little more in depth. I know where you are coming from and it is very hard to deal with. I am at
darrylhill@rogers.com my name is Linda
First of all, my heart goes out to you. I have been dealing with this ever since I got hit by a semi-truck back in Aug 1990. I have 4 herniated and 5 bulging. I have done EVERYTHING there is to do. I will tell you what has helped me the most. First of all, I'm 46 and female. I thought the pain would never go away. It DOES from time to time and there are actually months that I have little or no pain. Then just one little thing will trigger it. I drove from eastern Kentucky to Hickory, NC late last August and I am still in pain. Numbness in my right calf and right toes tingling. Pain shooting down my right hip into the back of my leg, etc. What has helped me the most is going to the chiropractor and getting regular massages. I have to sleep in a recliner and I make sure I have lumbar support and a pillow under my kneed when I sleep. Only once in a while do I have to take a narcotic pain reliever. Have faith! It may not seem like it right now but it will get better and then you will have flare ups. Just remember when it first flares up to use ice on the area for the first 24 hours to keep it from swelling anymore and then switch to heat. Do NOT go the surgery route. Studies have shown time and time again that patients that undergo back surgery do no better than those that chose chiropractic relief. Good Luck.

Herniated disc and Sciatic pain help?

i am very active and still in my teen years. I hearniated my disc (L4 L5) and have sciatic pain in my left leg and numbness in my foot and knee. About 3 months ago after a hockey game i noticed what felt like a pulled muscle, so i just ignored it but over the next month, it got worse and worse. What about chiropractor? Have they helped anyone?
Answer:
if the disc is herniated, there is nothing much you can do to cue it
you need the surgerythe herniated disc compressed on the spinal nerves, which are causing the painthose discs won't grow back to their normal places, unlikelyyou can try to see another doctor for a second opinion
I herniated 3 discs in my neck and even though it took several weeks just to be able to move, my chiropractor helped big time. Avoid surgery at all costs, often it only leads to more problems.
Be very careful of the chiropractor with a herniated disc. They are great for some things but not that. I have had 3 surgeries on my L5-S1, the last one with rods, pins and fusion. I have been disabled for 6 years following an auto accident. I currently go to a pain clinic regularly and am having another rhizitomy next week. Please weigh all your options before having surgery. Sometimes though, it is the only option.
consider calling a chiropractor that has a massage therapist that works on site. i know that massage can significantly help with the sciatic pains and can probably also help out a great deal with pain from the h.d, they will just probably need a info from your doctor first. some massage therapists accept insurance, and some insurances pay for massage therapy if the doctor prescribes it, while some even pay for it with out a doctors prescription.
I am so sorry you are experiencing this. for a herniated disc you may find that you will have to settle for pain management and not a full healing. A chiropractor who uses the BEST technique, Bio-Energetic Synchronization Technique, is a good bet. Avoid a chiropractor who wants to twist or jar you. Another person to seek out is a massage therapist who is experienced in clinical treatments, or sports therapy. Not every person out there doing massage knows what to do or not to do for you. One last suggestion is to seek a massage therapist who does Manual Lymph Drainage. I know it's your disc, but you probably still have a lot of swelling around the injury and MLD will decrease it. Less swelling results into less pain. Good luck. To find a great massage therapist in your area go to www.amtamassage.org

Hernia exploded or disappeared?

My husband has had a hernia in his stomach for a couple of years now. A couple of days ago, he was working on the truck. He had a sudden pain, now the hernia seems to have disappeared, he says his stomach hurts really bad for about two days now. Has anyone ever heard of a hernia dosappearing or exploding. He says hus stomach really hurts, but I can no longer see the hernia!!
Answer:
Go to the doctor like right now. Why didn't you guys get it taken out or fixed? Do you know what the term 'bowels burst asunder' means?
Did you ever hear that song by Wierd Al called, 'Living with a Hernia' a parody on 'Living in America'?
GO!

Hernia exploded or disappeared?

My husband has had a hernia in his stomach for a couple of years now. A couple of days ago, he was working on the truck. He had a sudden pain, now the hernia seems to have disappeared, he says his stomach hurts really bad for about two days now. Has anyone ever heard of a hernia disappearing or exploding. He says hus stomach really hurts, but I can no longer see the hernia!!
Answer:
He needs to get to a doctor immediately!! The pain could come from a ruptured hernia. This could cause periotitis which can be lethal if not caught in time. GO NOW!!! ENERGENCY ROOM NOW!!
maybe you should take him to the emergency room! omg
Um..not exploding..but some serious crap can happen. Literally. SO..E.R. right now. Go. Seriously.
If he is hurting he might aught to go to the doctor. A hernia can not explode. A hernia is a separation of tissue where there should not be a separation. It is possible that something has slipped into the hernia and is trapped in the wrong place, which could be fatal under the right conditions.
A herniation can rupture or become strangulated and become necrotic; I would get him to the ER NOW.
There is no term like exploding of hernia. And madam certainly some times hernias may sort of disappear. Your husband probably had an epigastric hernia and that too omentocoele. And while exerting either it has regressed or
disappeared. The best thing for you is to have him checked by a surgeon.
You gotta read this article...http://www.webmd.com/digestive-disorders...andhttp://www.webmd.com/digestive-disorders...either way he needs to go see a doctor to get checked out for safety sake.I have lived my life without being able to afford Ins. but we make too much $$$ to get govt. assistance, but I would rather pay a doctor or hospital for 10 years then live without my husband or have him live in pain.
Please , if you have to sedate him and have a few friends carry him to the ER, please get him seen.Good Luck! God Bless!
You haven't taken him to emergency? Get him there now.

Heres an odd question...?

How many teeth do you have? I have 27....im just trying to figure out the average of most ppl.
Answer:
Children are suppose to have 20 teeth by the time they reach 3 yrs old. This according to my daughter's dentist.I have had my wisdom teeth out and I have 27 teeth. I'm pretty sure you are suppose to have an even number of teeth though because when I was younger the dentist told me I had a tooth that was just hiding in my gums. Your suppose to have 4 teeth on the bottom in the front and I only have 3. So that's where my 28th tooth is. If you haven't had your wisdom teeth removed then yes you could have 32 teeth. Hope I helped!
32 ...thats how many adults r supposed to have.
You look worried about an odd figure.
Teeth will not be in an even figure always.
Do not worry.
32
i have 27 but im only 16

Here's an a question, what is the least amount of sleep a average human being can last on?

here's an a question, what is the least amount of sleep a average human being can last on, please note there is different capabilities between both genders lol
Answer:
Every person is different.
Personally, the least I sleep the less im tired.
But I think the least amount of sleep I can last on is about 30 hours in one week.
It was just announced on the net that a man just went a record 11 days without sleep.
How much Sleep do people need? The average amount of daily sleep for young adults is 7.5 hours. However, there is considerable variability in how long people sleep. Sleep needs vary from person to person. Asking how much sleep the average person needs isn't a very useful question, much like asking what shoe size the average person needs. If everyone were given average-size shoes to wear, most people would be very uncomfortable. Can short naps be refreshing? Some naps are beneficial and some are not. The effectiveness of napping varies from person to person. Also, the benefits of any specific nap depend on the time of day and the amount of sleep one has had recently. On the negative side, naps are not very efficient ways to sleep because you're often just getting into the deeper stage of sleep when your nap time is up. Another potential problem is that overly long naps ( more than 2 hours) or naps that occur too close to bedtime can disrupt nighttime sleep. On the positive side, most naps enhance subsequent alertness and reduce sleepiness. Evidence also suggests that naps can help offset the effects of frequent nighttime awakenings in older people. In conclusion, naps can be refreshing for most people, and they can be beneficial in the long run if they don't interfere with nighttime sleep.
How to Sleep:
Go to bed at the same time every night, including weekends.Get enough sleep every night to be fully alert all day.Get up at the same time every morning, without an alarm, seven days a week.Remember, sleep debt is like a bank account. Put back what you take out.If you are unable to obtain adequate nocturnal sleep, take a 15-20 minute "power nap" when you feel drowsy in the afternoon.Avoid alcohol within two hours of bedtime.Stop smoking.Reduce caffeine intake from coffee, sodas and chocolate after 2 p.m.Exercise daily and eat a proper diet.Be sure your bedroom is quiet, dark and cool.Periodically check the level of comfort and support of your mattress and pillow.Create a relaxing atmosphere in the bedroom, free from stress and tension.Take a hot bath or do stretching before bedtime. If your mind is focused on work and worries at bedtime, write down your concerns on "worry cards."Develop a ritual of reading for pleasure before you turn off the lights each night.
It may be that 10 hours of sleep a day is normal for human beings; certainly most of us function better with at least eight hours,

Here lately my back has been hurting really bad.?

Is there a direct corolation between a person matress and lower back pain? I can't afford a really expensive matress if there is. Do you have any suggestions.xoxoxoxox
Answer:
there are correlations but in basic laws of logic correlation doesn't prove cause and affect. If your having back pain and you've seen a specialist and they suggest better posture or more excerisice, basically saying there's nothing they can do, I suggest you do try those first attempts. Secondly, while a new mattress would be ideal, it usaully isn't ideal for our wallets since they can run in the thousands for a quality one. My suggestion is a mattress pad. I love those things. When I moved in with boyfriend he had one that was pretty nice. But when we got engaged I decided we needed to get a new one to have things be fresh. I went to walmart and got a great one. Walmart actually has really good quality brands on a lot of things. I also got myself a new pillow, since I had been having back pain aswell. The two worked. There are a wide assortment of pillows and pads that you can get to help your back. I suggest a polyester pillow stuffing that way its still great for your back and posture and cheaper cost. And for the mattress pad just feel around and read the labeling. They describe what is best for the results that you are seeking. Good luck with your search
You don't think it could be a kidney infection do you? Any fever? Yes, low back pain can come from a bad mattress. When my back hurts I have one of those big exercise balls and lay on it in the small of my back and it really feels good after a while.
Yes, although there are a number of different reasons for back pain. Did you know that Louise Hay "You Can Heal Your Own Life" says that people experiencing lower back pain feel unsupported financially, so transfer that frustration to their body. I too have a sore back and not much money for a good mattress. My long term plan is to get a good mattress on H.P. as soon as I can afford it but in the short term, make sure I am doing stretches and yoga, and thinking about lifting and bending so not to put more stress on my back.
just put a piece of plywood between your boxspring and your mattress its just o soft spot in your bed. you must have children or you've been real busy. just try it

Hep its urgent!!!!!! please?

ok welllast night i tryed 2 b bulimic, an stick me finger down me throat after i had a pizza cos i regretted it so much an i didnt throw up like i put it all the way down then wen i got a tingle feeling i jus took me fingers out,plz dnt say dnt so it! jus tell me how 2 do it plz!
Answer:
instead of putting your finger down in your throat, duct tape it.
You're an idiot.
seek professional help
they will help you
sounds like you have a hell of a gag reflex.if you can deep throat your fingers that far down your throat you could make someone very happy
DON'T DO IT!
People with eating disorders are losers. Why don't you just draw an 'L' on your forehead.
You must be INSANE if you think that anyone here is going to teach you how to have an eating disorder. How about just not putting the food in your mouth to begin with. Watch what you eat. Eat in moderation. Do you know how many health problems come along with bulemia? Your stomach acid eats at your esophagus. It rots away your teeth. You can inhale it in your lungs and it'll burn the inside of your lungs and can cause pneumonia. You can end up with vitamin and electrolyte deficiencies which can screw up your heart.
Grow up. Over 50% of people on planet Earth are dying of illnesses stemming from not eating enough. Stop being a stupid fat glutton.
The first thing that you need to ask yourself is why do you want to do this? Real bulimics have control issues and are normally in a severe depression. You may be experiencing a low to even let the thought cross your mind but don't continue to act on it as it will develop into something you will lose control of and not win.Try to talk to someone about the underlying issues that are making you feel so low about yourself and it might help you handle these negative thoughts you are having. I will not tell you how to do it and anyone that does needs to seek proffesional help also. Trust me... this is not a game you want to play with.
Hi there, first of all I'd just like to say there are alot of insensitive IDIOTS on here that will call you names and say that you're just some silly little girl. really not helping guys. As a male thats suffered from an eating disorder, I totally agree with lovely, this is not somthing that you want to play with. It can cause some very serious health issues and potentally even death. I myself was anorexic but thats a long and involved story for a different day. If you're serious about this there is a purgitive called syrip of ipicak (I hope I spelt that correctly) thats on the market that induces vomiting. Its mainly used in poisioning cases but could be used for your intentions. I really don't recomend this though like I said (the thing about your teath being eroded by stomach acid is correct and you won't look good if your thin with out a pretty smile). Another alternative would be to use laxitives but once again this is dangerous and potentially very harmful, and lets face it no one wants to have chronic dioreha all day every day. I think that you should try getting some healthy exercise and eat a ballanced diet, thats really the best way I rekn but its your body, your choice, and your mistakes to make along the way. consider yourself well informed.
