Hernia exploded or disappeared?

My husband has had a hernia in his stomach for a couple of years now. A couple of days ago, he was working on the truck. He had a sudden pain, now the hernia seems to have disappeared, he says his stomach hurts really bad for about two days now. Has anyone ever heard of a hernia dosappearing or exploding. He says hus stomach really hurts, but I can no longer see the hernia!!

Go to the doctor like right now. Why didn't you guys get it taken out or fixed? Do you know what the term 'bowels burst asunder' means?
